QUESTION 1:- Mention what are two main modes for design studies in solidworks ?

Ans :- The two main modes for running a design study includes.

  • Evaluation:- for each variable you specify discrete values and use sensors as constraints. the software executes study using several combination of the values and reports the output for each combination.
  • Optimization:- for each variable you specify values, either as discrete values or as a range, you use sensors as constrains and as goals. the software executes iterations of the values and reports the maximum combination of values to meet your expectation. 


QUESTION 2:- What is solidworks used for ?

Ans:- Solidworks is a very productive 3D CAD software tool, with its integrated analytical tools and design automation to help stimulate physical behavior such as kinematics, dynamics, stress, deflection , vibration, temperatures or fluid flow to suit all types of design. 


QUESTION 3:- What is solidworks installation manger ?

Ans:- Solidworks installation manger enables you to configure setting fo solidworks product components, including solidworks, solidworks toolbox, photo view 360, solidworks electrical, solidworks mange, solidworks PDM, solidworks PCB, solidworks visualize, and solidworks solid network license manger.


QUESTION 4:- What are the relations is solidworks sketch and how they are used ?

Ans:- In solidwork relation between sketch entities and model geometry, in either 2D or 3D sketches, are an important means of building in design intent. SW automatically adds relations. E.g. coincident, horizontal, vertical, midpoint, merge, pierce, co-linear, perpendicular, equal, parallel, co-radial, concentric, tangent, symmetric, equal slot, on edge, on plane, equal curvature.


QUESTION 5:- What do you understand by equation in solidworks part and assembly module ?

Ans:- Equation are added in solidworks to add a relationship in any two dimension using global variables and mathematical functions.


QUESTION 6:- List out the major or basics components of feature manager design tree ?

Ans:- The basics components of feature manager design tree includes 

  • Part
  • Subassembly 
  • Flexible subassembly 


QUESTION 7:- What is the groups in solidworks ?

Ans :- A group is a collection of the related segment in a structural member. 


QUESTION 8:- What is cut lists in solidworks ?

Ans:- Under feature manager design tree, cut list is an item that groups the same entities of a part together. it is available in part that have sheet metal features or weldment. 


QUESTION 9:- What is shell command, why it is used ?

Ans:- Shell is used to make uniform/ variable thickness of solid body.


QUESTION 10:- What are the types of pattern in solidworks assembly ?

Ans:- 

  • Linear component pattern

  • Pattern driven component pattern

QUESTION 11:- How to make a new part / drawing / assembly template in solidworks ?

Ans:- Make all the required changes in part /drawing / assembly template and then save it as template

Ans:- Convert entities are used in solidworks to draw sketch with reference to any feature of a part.

QUESTION 13:- Explain how you can use convert entities in solidworks ?

Ans:- Open sketch > click model edge, loop, and surface >click covert entities.

QUESTION 14:- What is speedpak in solidwork assembly ?

Ans:- Speedpak is used to create a simplified configuration of an assembly without losing references. if you work very large and complex assemblies, using a speed pak configuration an significantly improve performance while working in the assembly and and its drawing.
